We are looking for Girls in year 6 & 7 to join our Growing u13 team for the winter 2026-27 season. Please contact us for more details
The club
Banbury Blues NC was originally set up over 15 years ago by a group of friends who wanted to have a little run around and keep fit! Over the years, the club has grown massively and now offers netball to both Adult & Junior players and is in fact the only club in Banbury and North Oxfordshire area to do so.
We offer a 2 week trial and chat with the coaches for all new perspective players to see if there is a suitable space within one of the teams. For some age groups we currently have a waiting list, once spaces have become available we will notify those waiting that a trial period has become available.
Please do contact us if you have any questions.
The Banbury Blues NC team
Chair
Holly Smith
Hi I'm Holly, I've been part of BBNC since 2010. I have been Team Manager for Dolphins and Orcas in the past and now have the sole role of being BBNC's Chair and player for Orcas and Shark. I am also a Level 2 coach since 2023 to support BB's and will be Assistant Coach at training sessions. When I'm playing you will mostly find me in GA or GS but am partial to a quarter at WA.
Vice Chair
Zoe Lewis
Hi I'm Zoe, my netball journey started around 2014 as a netball mum of 3 enthusiastic girls standing watching training and on the sidelines cheering on the teams. After helping out here and there, it quickly snowballed into becoming a regular helper. Before long I'd signed up for a Level 1 coaching course and somehow found myself managing teams too! I love being involved in the club and supporting the players. There's nothing better than seeing players grow in confidence, develop their skills, and learn to work together and develop as a team. Watching them realise what they're capable of makes it all worthwhile.. Netball has a brilliant way of bringing people together, and I'm proud to play a small part in helping the girls enjoy the game, support each other, and reach there potential.

Hi, I'm the sole remaining original member of Banbury Blues when it was set up in 2008. I have a passion for shooting but you will also see me in defence. I am infamous among teammates as "mothercare" because if your missing a bib, tape, or a spare hair tie, I've always got you covered. Have been a lifelong netball lover and the ultimate "go-to" for the club. I also have been treasurer for over 10 years.

As i moved up the age groups and my sisters were in the younger sessions, I became a younger at the age of 12. I enjoyed it so much and went on to get my Level 1 in coaching at 16 and then progressed to my Level 2 at 18. Furthermore, I have been Head coach at a club in Hull and coached Back To Netball sessions for England Netball. Last year i was head coach of a Nottingham Forest. Currently I am Head Junior coach for Banbury Blues and Head coach for Oxfordshire County U13's. I like to play WA and WD ; C when my fitness was better and more when I was younger.

Hi, I'm Amy and I've been playing netball since i was 9 years old. I have been at BBNC for 7 years. Before i joined BBNC I used to support Junior training sessions and matches. You will now catch me at Junior League matches wearing multiple hats - team manager, umpire mentor, BBNC photographer. I have been a C award umpire since 2021 and took up mentoring for Oxfordshire netball in 2024. When I'm playing you will typically catch me in WA but not afraid to go back to my roots and have a quarter at GA ;)) . I have been Communications Secretary for nearly a year now and I know everybody loves my pre-match photos at every game :)))

Hannah Hawkes
Hi, I'm Hannah Hawkes (Quinney to anyone who plays alongside me) and I have been a member of Banbury Blues for maybe just shy of 15 years. You will find me playing GA or GS when I'm on court and I am captain of Sharks and Orcas (currently acting as Number 1 Cheerleader on the sidelines whilst i await the birth of my second baby). I've been Social and Fundraising Lead for the last year and I will find any opportunity to arrange an event that involves a form of fancy dress so beware!! I love spending time with my friend and family (soon to be 2 little ones) especially if it involves a holiday and a boat trip!! I work as an independent mortgage and protection advisor (NO fees charge for BB members so feel free to get in touch)
See you on the sidelines, you can usually hear me before you see me ;))
